The second type of sexual harassment is a hostile work environment created when an employee is subject to unwelcome sexual contact or lewd offensive behavior at work. This type of sexual harassment does not have to come from a person of authority. It can be from an employee, supervisor, coworker, and even a customer. It can be directed to both employees and customers. It can be physical or verbal. It can be spoken, written, or visual, including pictures and video. Any behavior of a sexual nature that offends or makes an employee uncomfortable has the potential to be sexual harassment.
