It is illegal to harass a person in the workplace because of that person's gender. Sexual harassment is a form of gender discrimination. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) defines sexual harassment in part as unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment.
